Wade Miles, NRP serves as the Training Manager for the Section of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine. Prior to joining Emory, Mr. Miles served for nearly 20 years with Grady EMS, the exclusive 911 ambulance responder for the City of Atlanta. During his time, Mr. Miles served in various roles including, Paramedic, Special Operations Paramedic, Supervisor, Manager, and Director of EMS Operations. Mr. Miles has an extensive background in emergency out-of-hospital care. He is a founding member and former team leader for the Grady EMS Biosafety Transport Team. He was instrumental in the planning and operational oversight of the movement of the first two confirmed patients with Ebola Virus Disease within the United States. Mr. Miles serves as a subject matter expert for the transport and management of patients with high consequence infectious diseases. Mr. Miles delivers training and education across the United States with the National Ebola Training and Education Center (NETEC) as well as the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences- Worker Training Program.
Mr. Miles is also the Operations and Training Manager for Emory’s Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), responsible for the development, management, and delivery of its educational programs. In addition, Mr. Miles works with the CEPAR team to develop and coordinate drills and exercises for the university’s emergency preparedness program.
