Why Emory EM Med Tox?
Many reasons! We get comprehensive clinical/bedside toxicology training through the Georgia Poison Center, which is one of the busiest poison centers in the country. The public health experience offered here through the CDC is fantastic. We are frequently involved in outbreak investigations both in the United States and abroad, and we also have the opportunity to be deployed for field investigations. We also have robust training in addiction medicine and great support for research endeavors.
Five-year Plan
I'm still undecided! I enjoy clinical/bedside toxicology, but also really like addiction medicine and the public health experience I've had thus far at the CDC. I could see myself happily doing any of these things in 5 years.
