BLS / ACLS Certification Instructions
The American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.
The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course builds on the foundation of livesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous , high-quality CPR.
Blended learning is a combination of online and in-person training. Blended learning combines eLearning, in which a student completes part of the self-directed course online, followed by a hands-on skills check. The hands-on skill check is completed in person with an AHA instructor.
NOTE: The certification courses are only offered for UME, GME and Health Profession degree programs at the Emory School of Medicine. All trainees please check-in with your coordinator prior to signing up.
