Message from the Dean:
Emory will host a site visit from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) on March 17-20, 2024. Ongoing accreditation from the LCME, the national accrediting body for educational programs leading to the MD degree in the United States and Canada, is essential to our medical school and the university.
The process leading up to this on-site review is officially underway, with over one hundred faculty, staff, residents, students, and alumni engaged. Over the next 18 months, the medical school will be involved in a comprehensive data collection effort, an institutional self-study, and an independent student analysis which will help us to identify strengths and challenges of our educational program. This intensive reflective process will augment our recent Medical Education Transformation efforts as we strive to provide imminent education within the best learning environment possible for our students, residents, staff, and faculty.
I want to thank in advance all the individuals who will be involved in this critical process. I look forward to sharing with the Emory community both the self-study and LCME site-visit reports so that we may continue to enrich our educational programs going forward.
