Biography
Ala Addin Sid Ahmed is a Psychiatry Resident at Emory. After earning his bachelor’s degree in health sciences, he co-founded a mental health first aid start up, PASS Kit, and served as its Chief Operational Officer. After he earned his master’s degree in physiology at Georgetown University, he matriculated at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Continuing his entrepreneurship, he co-founded the “Yes No Finger Guide,” a simple to use language guide for clinical settings. He also founded and served as a co-leader of the Opiate Awareness Project to facilitate medical student education about cultural factors contributing to substance use disorder taboo and to collaborate with other organizations on community-based initiatives.
