Biography
Devyani Sharma, PsyD, is a postdoctoral resident in Health Service Psychology at Emory University School of Medicine’s NIA Project/Grady Health System. She works primarily with individuals impacted by trauma and serious mental illness (SMI), with a focus on providing culturally responsive, evidence-based care in both individual and group settings. Devyani received her graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins University and University College London, and her BA (Honors) in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi. She completed her doctoral degree from the University of Denver and predoctoral internship at Buffalo Psychiatric Center, an inpatient state hospital in New York, where she gained experience across inpatient psychiatry and the SMI population. Devyani's professional interests include trauma, serious mental illness, health psychology, pain psychology and culturally responsive assessment. Broadly, her career goals focus on integrating culturally responsive and contextually informed practices into multidisciplinary hospital and health service delivery teams to provide integrated care for diverse and underserved populations. She is particularly passionate about advancing equity and access to mental health care through clinical work and research.
