Punita Peketi is a psychiatry resident at Emory. Punita earned her MD at Northeast Ohio Medical University. She received her bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences with a minor in psychology at the University of Akron. She is drawn to understanding thought disorders such as schizophrenia and therapeutic ways to reduce symptoms in addition to medications. She is also potentially interested in child psychiatry. She hopes to prioritize therapy in her practice and is currently pursuing the psychiatry program's psychotherapy track. Particular interests within therapy include psychodynamic object relations in addition to ACT and mindfulness.
