Michael McGrath is a Psychiatry Resident at Emory. Michael earned his MD at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He received his bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign. Clinically, he values working collaboratively with patients in understanding and exploring their lived experience and identifying ways a medical approach can support them. He is drawn to understanding apathy and anhedonia and the cognitive effects of mental illnesses and their treatments. Therapeutically, he has been drawn to the principles of ACT therapy and Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy, as well as the power of therapeutic relationships in healing and recovery.
