Salena Magazine is currently a fourth-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at Mercer University. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Child and Family Development in 2019. She also received her MS in Clinical Psychology from Mercer University in 2021. There, she has researched chronic stress and how it can affect health outcomes in adulthood. She also has previous experience assessing and providing treatment for developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, trauma related disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders and mood disorders. Salena is passionate about culturally-informed, evidence-based therapy interventions, providing services to low-income and underserved communities and helping all age ranges. Salena’s clinical interests include the family/ecological systems’ influence on mental health, supporting individuals experiencing distress from trauma and race-based stress and assessing the relationships between adverse childhood experiences to psychological and physical health outcomes. In her spare time, Salena enjoys engaging in the arts, such as painting, dancing and singing, while spending time with family, friends and pet corgi Noodles.
