Alexis Jones is currently a fifth-year Counseling Psychology doctoral student at Auburn University. She graduated from Spelman College with a BA in Psychology in 2016 and Columbia University with an MA in Clinical Psychology in 2018. Alexis also previously worked as a researcher at the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at the New York State Psychiatric Institute-Columbia University.
Alexis' clinical interests include working with diverse and underserved populations presenting with trauma and other stress responses. Alexis has had experience in various settings including correctional settings, a VA medical hospital, college counseling centers and faith-based settings. Alexis' research interests include how race related stressors influence health disparities, and exploring the factors that promote resilience, quality of life and success of Black Americans. In her spare time, Alexis enjoys quality time with her family and friends, traveling and reading.
