She/Her/Hers
Danielle Mason is one of the Project Coordinators at the Nia Project. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a double major in Psychology and Forensic Anthropology. Her research interests include neuropsychology, specifically neurobiology, neurodivergence and trauma's impact on both. Given, she has a deep interest in epigenetics to better understand the role emotional trauma can play in manifesting physically through genes. In the future, she plans to attend medical school to focus on a career in medicine helping to address trauma in underprivileged black and brown communities. Her deepest goal in life, academics aside, is to truly make a difference in the lives of people that need it most. Growing up in metro-Atlanta, she was able to see vast differences in attainable resources within wealthier Atlanta communities and underprivileged Atlanta communities and since, has been committed to creating change by providing access to free mental health resources and programs, like the Nia Project, dedicated to fostering positive progress.
