Yinan was born in Jilin, a northeastern city of China. He spent half of his childhood in Stockholm, Sweden and the other half in Warner Robins, GA. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA for undergraduate education and completed his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA for medical school and developed a passion for neurology after caring for patients during his neurology rotations. He chose Emory University for neurology residency, because of the diverse patient population, abundant clinical settings, extensive research opportunities, and friendly faculty and residents. His research interest lies in role of the blood brain barrier in Alzheimer’s disease. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, biking, tennis, basketball, cooking, and crafts.
