Sitara was born and raised in Columbus, OH and attended college at Case Western Reserve University where she studied Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism and minored in Economics. She then attended medical school at the University of Toledo in Ohio where her interest in neurology was born. She spent time investigating pretreatment neuroimaging and its impact on clinical outcomes after mechanical thrombectomy as well as the impacts of a hospital bypass protocol involving the RACE score. She chose Emory for her neurology training because of its incredible training environment, exceptional and kind faculty, research opportunities, diverse pathology, and most importantly, the amazing residents she met on interview day! Sitara has an interest in vascular and interventional neurology. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, traveling, playing tennis, and exploring all Atlanta has to offer with her husband.
