Ultrasound Training in Residency

The Emory Emergency Medicine residents participate in a one month ultrasound rotation during the first year. The rotation consists of:

Lectures
Bedside hands-on education
Scanning time
Weekly ultrasound video review of residents scans

Residents also complete online training modules. This month provides our residents with a foundational curriculum for clinical medicine and ultrasound credentialing.

SonoGames April 2021, Video 1

The EmoryEM residents are participating in SonoGames, a nationwide ultrasound competition through the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM). The EmoryEM team is competing “to create an amazingly awesome, creative, engaging 3 min video that teaches something about ultrasound.” Learn more about the Sonogames on the SAEM website here.
