Biography
Leo is an MD/PhD student from Corvallis, Oregon, who graduated from Yale University in 2024 with a BS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. During his time there, he conducted research in Dr. Lauren Sansing’s lab studying the role of myelin in the macrophage response to intracerebral hemorrhage. After college, he continued working in Dr. Sansing’s lab, continuing his project while also studying the chronic effects of microglia and B cells during intracerebral hemorrhage.
Outside of lab and clinic, he loves playing soccer, hiking, and cooking.
Areas of Interest
As an MD/PhD student, Leo is broadly interested in translational immunology and how immune cells interact with disease or infection.
Clinically, Leo is interested in medical oncology and various surgical specialties, but is open to exploring other fields.
