Overview
The Physician-Scientist Pipeline Program is a training initiative designed for motivated high school students interested in the intersection of medicine and research. Through hands-on experience and mentorship with MD/PhD students and faculty, participants gain early exposure to the skills needed to become future physician-scientists.

Program Structure
Fall 11th Grade
Apply and interview for the program. Weekly hands-on after school sessions building foundational skills in scientific and medical reasoning
Spring 11th Grade
Weekly hands-on after school sessions further developing scientific and medical skills. As the semester progresses, sessions differentiate to focus on areas of student interest, especially in preparation for summer internships.
Summer between 11th and 12th Grade
Students intern in laboratories at Emory University and/or Georgia Institute of Technology. Students work directly on projects under the supervision of MD/PhD students and faculty, with the opportunity to publish their work and/or present at conferences.
Fall and Spring of 12th Grade
Senior year is differentiated to support each students’ goals. Students have the opportunity to engage in activities such as mentor juniors in the program, continue to work with internship mentors, and further develop projects for presentation or publication. Our program also provides the option to support with undergraduate applications and senior capstone projects.
