Biography
Hannah is an MD-PhD student who graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Economics and a B.S.P.H. in Nutrition Science and Research. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research in drug delivery with Dr. Juliane Nguyen and cancer biology with Dr. Stephen Hursting. After graduation, Hannah earned her M.S. in Nutrition Science and Research under the mentorship of Dr. Nancie MacIver. Her master's research investigated how obesity and GLP-1 receptor agonists influence T-cell metabolism and led efforts to define how metabolic pathways regulate immune cell function in the context of obesity and therapeutic intervention.
Outside of the lab and clinic, she can be found cruising for unique ceramics or shopping for new plants to add to her growing collection.
Areas of Interest
As an MD-PhD student, Hannah plans to leverage her interdisciplinary background in cancer biology, immunology, and drug delivery to develop innovative approaches for targeted cancer immunotherapy.
Her clinical interests are in medical oncology, as she hopes to bridge mechanistic insights in cancer biology and immunology with the development of next-generation therapies for patients with cancer.
