Biography
Saaya is an MD/PhD student from Cleveland, Ohio, who graduated from Emory University with a BA in Human Health. She then worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Brigham and Women's Hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine in Boston, MA. Her research examined both acute and non-urgent conditions through drug and device trials as well as qualitative interviews. Most projects focused on patient experiences in the ED and improving clinical care, especially for vulnerable patient populations or those unable to speak for themselves due to acute care needs.
In her free time, Saaya enjoys crafting, reading, and running.
Areas of Interest
As an MD/PhD student, Saaya is interested in studying how the illness narrative is influenced by social norms, culture, and institutions.
Her current clinical interests are family medicine, critical care medicine, and pediatrics.
