Biography
Lee is an MD-PhD student from Taiwan. She is interested in micronutrient nutrition and their role as novel and accessible therapeutics to opthalmic dieases. Prior to starting at the Emory School of Medicine, she completed her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Nutrition Sciences at Emory College of Arts and Sciences. She then completed an MPhil in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge using Mendelian Randomization to study associations between cortisol and obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and depression by utilizing genetic markers in large genetic consortiums.
She currently works at the Datta lab at the Emory Eye Center where she studies how micronutrients can serve as a novel therapeutic for early stage dry AMD in mouse models and different cell lines. Clinically, she is interested in ophthamology and aspires to be more involved in global ophthalmology work (ORBIS) in her future career.
Outside of academics, she loves pet-sitting, cooking, hiking, traveling, and exploring new coffee shops.
