What is a Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS)?
An activity planned with multiple ongoing sessions offered weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Primarily organized and presented to the School of Medicine's professional staff. Examples include:
- Grand rounds
- Tumor Boards
- Morbidity & Mortality Conferences
New RSS Applicants
1. You must designate an RSS Activity Director (Emory Physician), and RSS Series Coordinator (typically the Administrator to the Emory Physician) to facilitate communication with the Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME):
- Designated personnel will serve as record-keepers, ensuring annual RSS forms are updated and stay informed about important RSS news sent via eBlasts.
Refer to OCME Policies and Procedures for detailed responsibilities.
2. Complete and Submit the Course Application Form (CAF) signed by your Activity Director and Department Chair to cme@emory.edu
- Must be submitted 6 months prior to the beginning of the course.
- Review and approval within 30 days; incomplete submissions will be returned.

4. Attendance Documentation
No longer using participant rosters in 2024 and onwards.
- Learners: Must report attendance quarterly using Text-In Attendance or CME Online Portal (look for sign-in icon)

5. Credit Eligibility:
- Only physicians are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
- Non-physicians receive documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
- Instruct learners that credit must be claimed for each session no later than 7 business days after the session has ended. Credits earned may be forfeited if not claimed online/via text within 7 business days after the session ends.
- Participant Transcripts can be obtained at https://med.emory.edu/education/cme/. Learners need to login to access the CME activity profile and transcript history.
6. Accreditation Statement:
Disclosure statements must be displayed at the start of each presentation in the first slide deck.
7. Compliance Issues:
Consistent problems with documentation or failure to comply with ACCME, OCME, or School of Medicine policies will result in notification to the Course Director, the Departmental Chair, and the Director of OCME. Unresolved compliance failures will result in withdrawal of CME certification.
