What is a Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS)?

An activity planned with multiple ongoing sessions offered weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Primarily organized and presented to the School of Medicine's professional staff. Examples include:

  • Grand rounds

  • Morbidity & Mortality Conferences

All RSS Applicants (New and Renewal)

1. Designate an RSS Activity Director (Emory Physician) and an RSS Series Coordinator (Administrator to the Emory Physician) to facilitate communication with the Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME).

  • Designated personnel will act as record-keepers, updating annual RSS forms and staying informed on important RSS news via eBlasts.
*Refer to OCME Regularly Scheduled Series Planning Guide for detailed responsibilities.

2. Complete and Submit the Web-Based Event Application

  • Submissions must be received by November 1 of the proceeding calendar year. Reviews and approvals will take place within 30 days; incomplete submissions will be returned.

5. Credit Eligibility:

  • Only physicians are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
  • Non-physicians receive documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
  • Instruct learners that credit must be claimed for each session no later than 7 business days after the session has ended. Credits earned may be forfeited if not claimed online/via text within 7 business days after the session ends.
  • Participant Transcripts can be obtained at https://med.emory.edu/education/cme/. Learners need to login to access the CME activity profile and transcript history.

6. Accreditation Statement:

Disclosure statements must be displayed at the start of each presentation in the first slide deck.

7. Compliance Issues:

Consistent problems with documentation or failure to comply with ACCME, OCME, or School of Medicine policies will result in notification to the Course Director, the Departmental Chair, and the Director of OCME. Unresolved compliance failures will result in withdrawal of CME certification.
