Meet the Faculty

Alexandra Perez, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist specializing in neurodevelopmental assessments and therapeutic interventions for children with suspected prenatal substance exposure. She serves as the Director of the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Program and is certified in PCIT. Perez has extensive clinical experience working with young children who have experienced adverse life events, including abuse and neglect, and who present with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Her research and clinical interests focus on the impact of multicultural factors on treatment effectiveness, as well as evidence-based interventions that support children and families affected by trauma, developmental challenges and behavioral concerns. Perez is fluent in both English and Spanish and provides culturally responsive services to diverse populations and is committed to advancing equitable, family-centered care.

Laura Jane Miller, MD, is board certified in Adult and Child and Adolescent psychiatry. She also holds a certificate from the Parent Infant Mental Health Fellowship Program at UMass. She is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy and is training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her teaching interests include understanding healthy development of young children, trauma and supporting emotion regulation.

Milena Armani, MD, is a licensed child and adolescent psychiatrist who is board certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. She is also a certified provider of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is originally from Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese and English.

Lindsay M. Stewart, PhD, specializes in administering diagnostic interviews, working as a liaison with Atlanta-area schools and conducting therapy with anxious and depressed children and adolescents. Her clinical work and research has focused within the clinical child and pediatric area of specialty.
