- The Emory Clinical Informatics Fellowship program is located in Atlanta, Georgia, which is the largest city in the Southeast with many different patient populations and needs.
- Training occurs across three (soon to be four) very different health systems, each of which excels in care for healthy patients as well as patients with some of the most complicated medical conditions:
- Emory Healthcare – The largest health system in Atlanta, which is integrated with the Emory School of Medicine, a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence in academic medicine
- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – One of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the country, and continually driving nationally and internationally recognized research programs through its partnership with the Emory School of Medicine
- Grady Health System – One of Atlanta’s oldest and most critical health systems and one of the nation’s best trauma centers with faculty physicians from the Emory School of Medicine and the Morehouse School of Medicine.
- Atlanta VA Health Care System – The largest Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system in the country, the Atlanta VA comprises 22 locations serving a 50-county area. It is part of the national VA network, which maintains the largest single electronic health record system in the country - the VA’s VistA system.
- Training is also tightly integrated with the Emory Department of Biomedical Informatics, which houses nationally recognized training and research in data science and integrative biomedical research.
- The fellowship program is 24 months in length.
