Description

Residents have the opportunity to rotate on the Adult Reconstruction Service during their PGY 2 and PGY 5 years. During their second year residents work with Dr. Bradbury and Dr. Erens to learn the fundamentals of total hip and total knee arthroplasty. As a tertiary referral center, Emory provides a broad variety of cases including primary knee and hip arthroplasty, as well as more complex revisions, periprosthetic fractures and elderly hip fractures. During their fifth year residents work with Dr. Roberson to refine the more nuanced aspects of joint replacement including surgical indications, implant selection, and soft tissue balancing. Residents meet with faculty on Mondays for a didactic lecture and on Fridays for a case conference.
