Request Process
What are the review criteria?
The Department of Medicine Data Request Committee assesses each request using the following criteria:
- Project is research oriented
- Effort estimated for each project
- Project impact/trajectory; and
- Ability and commitment to securing additional funding as needed to complete the project.
NOTE: Preference will be given to new or early-career investigators.
Requestors should expect to receive an initial communication about their request within 2-5 business days.
NOTE: If the request is determined to not qualify for DAB Core support, the requestor will be directed to other existing resources on campus.
What is the cost?
Options are available both for investigators who have funding to allocate toward DAB Core services as well as investigators who do not have funding available. The Department of Medicine is pleased to be able to offer 10 hours at no charge for those who do not have grant funding, however, the requestor is responsible for the cost of time exceeding the initial 10 hours.
Writing DAB Services Into Your Grant
Since DAB Core only covers the first 10 hours at no charge, researchers are encouraged to write DAB Core services into their grant proposal. Please visit the Emory Facilities and Resources Boilerplate Language Library to find descriptive language intended for grant inclusion. Emory DOM credentials needed to access.
