The Biochemistry Department located on the 4th floor in the Rollins Research Center, completed its north wing renovation at the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester. The Dunham Lab moved from the Biochemistry Connector to the new 4th floor wing while the Conn Lab, Dynan Lab, Ghalei Lab, Pallas Lab, Reines Lab, and Song Labs are also now located in the renovated north wing.
The new floor plan accommodates more labs working in the open shared space. Labs now use common equipment resulting in more efficient use of space. The desks for students, postdocs, and lab personnel are located outside of the lab in stations instead of inside the labs as in a traditional lab configuration.
The second phase of renovations on the south wing began in October 2021 with the target completion date of Fall 2022.
