The Emory Center for Experiential Learning (ExCEL) is located in the James P. Williams School of Medicine Building (Simulation Lab, Suite B31) on the basement level and includes both simulation and clinical skills spaces.
The simulation center has state-of- the-art educational spaces and equipment, such as part-task trainers and high fidelity patient simulators. It also has simulated clinical spaces, including an operating room and emergency rooms used for immersive simulation case scenarios. All ExCEL rooms have the capacity for direct and remote observation and recording.
ExCEL is a resource for the entire School of Medicine. Currently, many of the school's educational programs, residencies, fellowships, and faculty programs work with the simulation center staff to build robust simulation-based learning experiences. Hands-on BLS/ACLS certification skills testing is also located in the Simulation Lab Suite.
