About Us

Who We Are

The House Staff Organization (HSO) is the designated organization which represents all residents and fellows in graduate medical education training programs at Emory University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals. The HSO is available to seek resolutions to issues that cannot be resolved within the training program, and will present and advocate Housestaff concerns to appropriate Graduate Medical Education, University, Hospital administrators, and other related parties.

Additionally, we coordinate with the Graduate Medical Education office on advocacy, social, and other activities.

House Staff Organization is a strong advocate on behalf of the residents and fellows on salary, benefit, and safety issues.

We are here for you, so please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Mission

The House Staff Organization at Emory University School of Medicine advocates for an ideal environment for the acquisition of the knowledge, skill, and attitudes necessary for our residents and fellows to achieve the highest level of professional and personal accomplishment. In doing so, we strive to represent the interests of the Emory House Staff in a balanced and collaborative manner, united under a common institutional goal to safeguard the public trust.
