Brittni Fleming is a third-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at Fielding Graduate University. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Fisk University and a master's in clinical mental health counseling from Mercer University.
Professionally, Brittni has experience as an educator in inner-city school systems, supporting students with diverse exceptionalities. She has also rendered comprehensive social services to individuals and families who are survivors of trauma or coping with mental health conditions. Her practice has involved serving veterans, active-duty service members and individuals from various disenfranchised communities.
In her therapeutic practice, Brittni applies an integrative theoretical framework grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered and culturally sensitive interventions.
Her research interests integrate health psychology and social justice, with a particular emphasis on the experiences of the Black community. She is committed to exploring the ramifications of racial trauma on the disproportionately high prevalence of specific conditions within this demographic. Brittni aims to advance the field through research that informs the development of empirically supported, culturally responsive interventions tailored to the unique needs of this population.
