Tradition of Excellence
Founded in July 1969, the residency training program at Emory Decatur Hospital was the first three-year training program in the United States in foot, ankle and leg surgery. It is nationally and internationally recognized as a leader in foot and ankle surgery and attracts exceptional residents from across the United States and the world.
Residents receive extensive surgical training and are involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with a great diversity of pathology on a daily basis.
At the end of three years, residents can expect to have completed the requirements for a Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with the added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA).
Our academic home is within the Emory School of Medicine's Department of Orthopaedics.
