WEM-PWRDD stands for Women in Emergency Medicine, Promoting Wellness, Research, Diversity, and Professional Development. WEM-PWRDD is a ground-breaking program by women open to all members of the department to promote clinicians in Emergency Medicine.
This program welcomes new residents, APPs, and faculty and tracks where participants land if and when they leave Emory. By providing a structured pipeline and support network with six formal teaching/ discussion modules for small groups, we hope that participants will gain a sense of empowerment and social support encouraging them to pursue more academic opportunities. Assigned small groups meet twice per year, read articles in advance, and participate in small group discussions. Additionally, there is a large group social event yearly.
