Overview

As a neurobiologist with decades of dedicated research since 2000, my expertise centers on unraveling the complex mechanisms underlying various neurodevelopmental, neurological, and neurodegenerative conditions including autism, epilepsy, Fragile X syndrome (FXS), Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) and Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease (NIID). A significant aspect of my work involves the creation and implementation of innovative research tools such as tandem affinity purification and mass spectrometry strategy and human iPSC derived brain organoids of FXS and FXTAS. These advancements have enabled more precise investigations into the pathogenesis of neurological disorders, facilitating a deeper understanding of their molecular and cellular underpinnings to advance the field. Through collaborative efforts and interdisciplinary research, I continue to push the boundaries of our understanding, always with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of those affected by these challenging neurological conditions. My research expertise spans multiple disciplines, encompassing neurodevelopment, neurological disorders, and cutting-edge molecular techniques such as epitranscriptomics, proteomics, single-cell RNAseq, single-nuclei RNAseq and eCLIP-seq, along with bioinformatics.
