Research

Focus

  • Critical illness nutrition

My research has focused on assessment of energy expenditure and delivery of nutrition in critically ill children through multi-center clinical trials and surveys of practice.
  • Critical illness endocrine dysfunction

My research has focused on all aspects of critical illness endocrine dysfunction with an emphasis on tight glycemic control in critically ill children with the landmark HALF-PINT trial. I serve as an invited expert in this area and have been involved in developing guidelines and standards for clinical care.
