Varun Phadke
Overview
Dr. Phadke is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and the Fellowship Program Director in the Division of Infectious Diseases. He obtained his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He completed fellowship training in infectious diseases at Emory, during which he also participated in the T32-supported Emory Vaccinology Training Program, then joined the faculty in 2017.
Dr. Phadke is a passionate clinician-educator with a clinical focus in immunocompromised hosts and an educational focus in clinical reasoning. He directs the Microbiology Thread in the Foundations Curriculum at Emory University School of Medicine, leads a longitudinal Transplant ID curriculum for upper-level fellows within the ID Fellowship Program, and serves as Assistant Vice Chair of Education for Clinical Reasoning within the Department of Medicine. He is also an active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and American Society of Transplantation (AST) ID Community of Practice.
