Overview

Academic Appointment

  • Acting Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine

Education

Degrees

  • Ph.D. (Immunology) from Rockefeller University
  • M.D. from Cornell University Medical College
  • B.S. (BioChemistry) from Barnard College

Research

Focus

  • Blood cells in health and disease

My career revolves around the study of blood cells in health and disease. In HIV, we probe the role of antigen-naive T cells in HIV persistence, providing new targets for its eradication. In sickle cell disease, we probe the role of hemolysis in driving increased WBC turnover and leukemia risk.
