Thomas Szabo Yamashita
Overview
Thomas Szabo Yamashita is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Surgery who specializes in general and endocrine surgery. His particular expertise is in management of benign and malignant endocrine tumors, including thyroid, parathyroid and the adrenal glands.
He received his MD degree at the Federal University of Parana, Curitiba, Brazil. He is board-certified in general surgeon. He completed his general surgery training at the Mayo Clinic and endocrine surgery training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
His research interests lie in treatment of rare endocrine malignancies, genetic neoplastic processes, management of functionally active and inactive endocrine tumors and treatment of benign endocrine disorders.
