Focus
- My research focuses on discovering brain mechanisms important for learning, memory, and emotion in humans and nonhuman primates. We have successfully identified a system of neuroanatomically connected structures in the temporal lobe important for memory and we are now clarifying how the components contribute to memory function. Additionally, we have developed new tests for assessing memory in patients with mild cognitive impairment that are based on our behavioral tasks developed in monkeys.
