Sibo Tian
Overview
Sibo Tian, MD, is a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of patients with lung cancer, sarcoma, and breast cancer. He treats patients at Winship Cancer Institute (Clifton campus), Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown and Emory Proton Therapy Center.
Dr. Tian is a member of multiple professional organizations including American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.
During training, Dr. Tian was a recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Conquer Foundation Merit Award at the 2018 annual meeting.
Dr. Tian is actively involved with multiple areas of clinical research. His research interests include exploring ways of to integrate radiation therapy and immunotherapy, proton therapy, and the use of big data to optimize the multi-disciplinary care of cancer patients. During his training he was principal investigator on a pilot study of functional imaging in the treatment of lung cancer. He is interested in developing clinical trials that investigate how technologic innovations and novel methods of radiation delivery can improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Tian has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed research articles, which have been published in a number of leading journals including Cancer, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, JAMA Oncology. He has given oral presentations at national and international meetings. He has been a peer reviewer for Frontiers in Oncology, Clinical Lung Cancer, Oral Oncology, among others.
