Sadhna Nandwana
Overview
Dr. Nandwana is currently the Chief of Radiology Service at Emory University Hospital Midtown, and serves on the Radiology Safety Committee at Emory University Hospital. She has received awards in medical student teaching, as well as the American Medical Womens Association Award for Academic Achievement, which she received during her medical training. Her current research interests include quality improvement projects and quality assurance initiatives, with a current focus on appropriate utilization of MR imaging and management of contrast reactions. Dr. Nandwana has achieved clinical distinction as Distinguished Physician in the Emory School of Medicine.

Research
Focus
- Dr. Nandwana is an abdominal imaging and interventions radiologist who began her research endeavors doing basic science research. Her scholarly work led to the discovery of the perforin gene genetic defect to be responsible for the rare disease of familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. Dr. Nandwanas work subsequently extended to transgenic mice screening and breeding and investigated the NK cell 2B4 receptor and its role in T cell cytotoxicity.
