Overview

Steven Keilin, MD grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati. His interest in gastroenterology developed as a resident at Atlanta Medical Center. His passion for advanced endoscopic procedures and management of gastrointestinal cancers occurred during his fellowship at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Keilin returned to Atlanta in 2007 to join the gastroenterology department at Emory University. He treats pancreatitis, GERD, Barrett's esophagus, gastrointestinal bleeding, jaundice, bile duct stones and strictures, sphincter of oddi dysfunction, primary sclerosing cholangitis, achalasia and gastric/duodenal ulcers. He specializes in small bowel disorders and obscure GI bleeding, performing deep enteroscopy including single balloon enteroscopy. He also performs POEM (Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy) for patients with a disorder called achalasia. Dr. Keilin was named the "GI Attending of the Year" at Emory University Hospital in 2012.
