Scot Sherwood
Overview
Dr. Scot Sherwood is an ABR board certified diagnostic radiologist and assistant professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences in the Emory University School of Medicine where he has a dual appointment in the Divisions of Community Radiology Specialists and Musculoskeletal Imaging. Dr. Sherwood obtained his bachelors degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa. He received his medical degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Following his diagnostic radiology residency training at Baptist Memorial Hospitals Memphis, he completed a combined fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology / Diagnostic Neuroradiology at the University of California San Diego specializing in orthopedic and spine imaging and interventions.
Prior to joining the faculty at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Sherwood accrued 11 years of private practice experience which involved both general diagnostic and subspecialty musculoskeletal imaging and included working with orthopedic surgeons caring for high level collegiate, professional and Olympic athletes. His clinical interests center around orthopedic and spine imaging with a focus on sports imaging as well as rheumatologic and orthopedic oncology imaging. He considers teaching residents and fellows at the workstation the most rewarding of his academic interests.
