Overview
Dr. Patel received his MD degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Emory University, after which he completed a fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh that focused on thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disorders. He joined the Emory Department of Surgery in 2016 with clinical specialties in malignancies of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal gland. His primary research interest is defining the role of molecular markers in thyroid cancer patients and in the preoperative detection of thyroid cancer. He was named a Platinum Provider for Emory Healthcare in 2018 and 2020, an honor based on "Rate Your Provider" patient satisfaction results that placed within the top 10 percent nationwide as well as a minimum of 60 returned Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction surveys.
