Shelly-Ann Fluker MD
Overview
Dr. Fluker is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Fluker received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, her MD degree from Harvard Medical School, and completed a Primary Care Residency and Chief Residency at Brigham and Womens Hospital. Dr. Fluker is a faculty member in the Division of General Internal Medicine section at Grady Memorial Hospital and has focused her career on caring for medically underserved patient populations and educating health professionals. Dr. Fluker is the Program Director of the Primary Care Track of the Emory University J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency program. Dr. Fluker is also the Associate Medical Director of the Grady Liver Clinic, a primary care-based hepatitis C clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital which is internationally recognized for its multidisciplinary team-based approach to hepatitis C management of an urban, underserved patient population. Dr. Fluker teaches regionally and nationally about hepatitis C screening, treatment, and alternate models of care and has been the co-investigator of several research projects focused on implementing systematic screening for hepatitis C and evaluating the cure cascade for hepatitis C in a medically underserved population.
