Ryan Peterson

Overview
Dr. Peterson obtained his medical degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis Tennessee in 2009 and completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Emory University in Atlanta in 2014. After a year long Neuroradiology fellowship at Emory, he continued on as an Assistant Professor in the division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging (ETI). After two years in ETI, he returned to the division of Neuroradiology. Dr. Peterson has served as the clinical site director for Neuroradiology and Assistant Chief of Service at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlantas only ACS-verified level 1 trauma center and one of the leaders in stroke related care in the Southeast. He holds a subspecialty certificate in Neuroradiology and is currently an Associate Professor.
Dr. Peterson is a Neuroradiologist focused on resident and medical student education with clinical interests in neurotrauma and general neuroradiology. He is the Program Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Associate Program Director for the Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency. He is the former Associate Program director for the Transitional Year Internship and faculty advisor for the Clinical Education Track (CET) residents in radiology. He routinely lectures medical students during their CORE clerkships in Neurology. His current interests include radiology education tools, resident curriculum/education development, stroke, infectious disease of CNS and neurotrauma.
