Overview
Dr. Gerhard earned his medical degree and completed both his general surgery internship and urology residency at Emory University, a nationally recognized leader in academic medicine. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in robotic urologic surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Ronney Abaza, one of the worlds most experienced robotic urologic surgeons. His training emphasized cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniquesparticularly robotic prostatectomydesigned to improve cancer outcomes, reduce complications, and promote faster recovery.
Dr. Gerhard provides comprehensive, high-quality care for a wide range of urologic conditions, including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney stones, and urinary symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Known for his thoughtful and compassionate approach, he is deeply committed to understanding the unique needs and goals of each patient and delivering personalized care with the same attention and respect he would offer his own family.
His clinical practice is based at Emory University Hospital Midtown and the Emory Winship Cancer InstituteGeorgias only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a nationally recognized leader in cancer care.
