Overview
Quratulain "Annie" Syed, MD is a board-certified internist and geriatrician and is an associate professor of medicine at the Emory University Department of Medicine, Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics. Her clinical practice is based at the Geri-PACT Clinic and the Continence Clinic of the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital (Mt. Sinai School of Medicine program) and fellowship in geriatric medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. Her clinical interests include geriatric syndromes, transitions of care, polypharmacy, and cognitive disorders. Her research and health policy interests include alternative models of care and payment for primary care and chronic disease management, quality metrics, clinician burnout, and deprescribing.
She is an alum of the Health and Aging Policy Fellows Program and the American Political Sciences Association Congressional Fellows Program (2023-2024 cohort). She serves as a member of Health Equity Commission and Health Policy Committee (Clinical Practice subcommittee) at the Society of General Internal Medicine, and Policy Group of the American Academy of Home Care Medicine.
