Pradnya Mhatre
Overview
Dr. Mhatre is an assistant professor in the Division of Abdominal Imaging as well as the Magnetic Resonance (MR) Director for Grady Memorial Hospital. She earned her MBBS from Topiwala National Medical College and BYL Nair Hospital of the University of Bombay, India. She then completed diagnostic radiology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA followed by fellowship training in thoraco-abdominal imaging at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She is board certified in diagnostic radiology and magnetic resonance safety and holds a certificate of proficiency in global health radiology and radiation oncology.
Dr. Mhatre is involved in numerous MR safety and quality initiatives. As MR Medical Director at Grady, she is working on improving MRI site safety and patient safety for Grady Hospital and its affiliated sites. She led the ACR Prostate Imaging Learning Network Quality Improvement initiative at Grady Hospital. In addition to serving on the Monthy Modality Dyad Committee, Gynecology Subcommittee, and the Medical Executive Commmittee - Quality Committee in Grady Memorial Hospital, she also is involved in the MR Safety Committee and the MRI Quality and Safety Working Group in the Emory School of Medicine.
Global health endeavors are important to Dr. Mhatre. She currently serves as program manager for safety and quality assurance for RAD-AID International and serves as a faculty member for the RSNA Global Learning Center for Women's Imaging Fellowship in Tanzania and the RSNA Global Learning Center for Indonesia.
She has published and presented on MRI safety and quality as well as on imaging disparities in low- and middle-income countries. She is associate editor of the Global Radiology Section and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Applied Radiology.
