Puneet Sharma
Overview
Dr. Sharma is an MRI Physicist involved with both optimization and quality assurance of all clinical MRI protocols, as well as the development of new techniques to improve efficiency. His extensive experience in clinical MRI helps support technologists, radiologists, and administrators with daily MRI operations. Dr. Sharma also maintains an active role in MR research, with his interests focused on body and cardiac MRI applications, but also in supporting MRI innovation throughout all divisions. Dr. Sharma has also participated in MRI education initiatives, serving as speakers with Siemens Healthcare, American College of Radiology, and Applied Radiology.
A valued member of the Emory Radiology faculty, Dr. Sharma received the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences' Outstanding Service Award (Junior Faculty) in 2021.
Dr. Sharma earned his undergraduate degree in engineering science at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and his PhD in bioengineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. He earned certification in MRI Physics from the American Board of Medical Physics in 2021.
