Overview

Dr. McGinley spent 27 years at the Emory Clinic as the director of the Medical Physics Program. His efforts include clinical work, teaching and research. As a result of his research, he produced 62 publications and a book on radiation shielding. He developed a number of techniques and apparatuses for patient therapy including total skin electron irradiation, hypothermia treatment, total body radio therapy and stereotactic radiation therapy. An MS medical physics program was developed and directed by Dr. McGinley for the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. McGinley also guided the education of medical physics students at The Georgia Institute of Technology as well as directing the research of several PhD students.
