  • My research effort addresses issues related to neonatal screening, clinical management, and health outcomes for children with sickle cell disease (SCD). As Director of the Pediatric Sickle Cell Disease Program of Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University Department of Pediatrics, my academic priorities are the development and expansion of federally-funded translational research activities, especially in the areas of nephropathy, pain, and pulmonary injury in SCD
