Neil Saunders
Overview
A board certified surgeon and surgical oncologist, Dr. Saunders specializes in cancers of the endocrine organs including thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, and adrenal glands. His clinical research interests involve thyroid cancer, parathyroid disease, and quality improvement.
He received his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, completed his general surgery residency at Emory, and did his complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Ohio State University in Columbus.
Since arriving at Emory in 2016, Dr. Saunders' clinical contributions have included introducing bedside ultrasonography for endocrine surgery patients to enhance diagnostic abilities and efficiency. His academic responsibilities include serving as Program Director of the Emory Endocrine Surgery Fellowship.
